In honor of the last day of Summer, I thought I’d do a #TBT post sharing two of my favorite Summer dresses that I wore during my staycation at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta back in July. Although I’m looking forward to wearing cozy Fall layers, I’m sad to put all of my bright Summer clothes away until next year.
Gingham is all the rage for late Summer and early Fall. This bright yellow gingham dress caught my eye when I was shopping at Opening Ceremony in NYC a few months ago. Usually, I gravitate towards anything black, so I was proud of myself for branching out and trying a color I never wear–yellow. To all of my fellow brunette friends, bright yellow is our color and really pops if you have a tan. I’m literally obsessed with yellow now thanks to my friend, Tamara, who encouraged me to try this dress on when I was like “I love this gingham dress, but I’m not sure about the color.”
One of my favorite bracelets is this Tiffany Bow cuff bracelet in rose gold which is great for stacking with various mixed metals: gold, silver, and rose gold. The Tiffany & Co. Tiffany T Square bracelet is one of the most versatile pieces I own and looks great dressed up or down.
Outfit Details: c/o Margot By Loren embroidered dress (order one size up) // Jimmy Choo flatforms (old), similar here (in tan) // Prada white bag (vintage) // Tiffany & Co. Soleste earrings // Tiffany & Co. Tiffany Metro Three Row Circle necklace // Tiffany & Co. Tiffany T Square bracelet // Tiffany & Co. Etoile bangle bracelet // Tiffany & Co. aquamarine ring
My other favorite Summer dress is this embroidered dress from Margot By Loren, which is hand embroidered in Mexico. It’s the perfect cocktail dress for wearing to an engagement party or for a night on the town. Make sure to order a size up if you buy this dress since it runs a little small. I’m wearing a Small when I normally wear an X-Small. I also wore this dress to an engagement party at the end of July and got so many compliments on it. It’s the quintessential bright, fun dress that you need in your wardrobe for Summer.
I dressed up my outfit to make it more fitting for cocktail attire with a simple Tiffany & Co. Tiffany Metro Three Row Circle necklace and a stunning Tiffany & Co. aquamarine ring for a burst of color.
I like adding in some retro pieces with a bag or sunglasses for a little glam. My mom gave me this vintage white Prada bag a few years ago (which was in really great condition but needed a new zipper and to be cleaned up a little bit–easy fixes overall). If you’re in the market for a designer bag, I highly recommend looking at some vintage bags as well, if want something cool and different. I love the Art Deco-inspired gold link chain strap on this bag.
Tans will start to fade when it’s time for Summer brights to be put away, but we will always cherish those endless Summer memories we made as we fall into Autumn.
