Staycation at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta

Location: Atlanta, GA21 Jul

A couple of weeks ago, Cameron and Stacy had a fabulous staycation at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta. From fabulous accommodations to participating in a yoga class and spa treatment, to even eating a delicious Chinese brunch, our stay was nothing short of perfection.

Cameron and I enjoyed a Chinese brunch after our night at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta. Keeping an easy-going and comfortable look, I chose an ivory top to show off my shoulders, and a simple black bodycon skirt, so I could carry my funky Fendi Monster bag. The Tiffany & Co. T hinged wrap bracelet looks stunning with the Fendi and the Tiffany’s Paloma’s Melody ring (obsessed!).

I chose my favorite wedges by Jimmy Choo that are too comfortable not to wear every day. With accents of silver and gold in the wedge, they can be easily transitioned with any metals you wear!

Come follow along as we explore the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta.

The decor of the hotel had traditional pieces consisting of beautiful wooden furnishings with a contemporary twist. We just loved the glamorous marble spiral staircase in the lobby along with the abstract paintings and sculptures found throughout the hotel.

Room:

We stayed in the Mandarin Premier Room, which overlooked Peachtree Rd. Our room was traditional in style with luxurious marble and wood furnishings.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. We were extremely impressed with how roomy the bathroom was especially when we were both doing our makeup. We loved sitting on the green velvet chairs and snacking on the delicious nuts and dried fruit that was in our room before going to dinner.

Stacy: Our Dim Sum Brunch at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta was incredible. Due to Celiac Disease, I was unable to indulge in the main courses, so the chef prepared a special Dim Sum Brunch just for Cameron and me. Red Snapper in lemongrass, spinach and mushrooms, and chicken with celery dishes were brought to our table and the chef introduced us to each dish. The care taken by the chef as well as the waitstaff to ensure that I stayed healthy and happy with the foods they prepared was so comforting.

Cameron: I’m still dreaming about the delicious Chinese brunch that we ate at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta.  We sat at a table that overlooked the beautiful hotel garden. Hats off to the chef for being so accommodating for Stacy’s special dietary requirements. We couldn’t believe how each dish was filled with its own explosion of unique flavor.

Amenities:

Spa:

Stacy: The Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta Spa defines serenity. My experience at the Spa was divine:
I was greeted in the dimly lit entry hall of the spa where my shoes were removed as a sign of leaving my work day behind and my cell phone was cleaned and placed in a pouch for me to lock away before my massage. Wow! I never think to remove myself from technology, and even less do I think to leave my work day out my mind…

After spending a few minutes in the relaxation room in a soft robe, I was led to a large private room with a massage table and a large soaking tub in an adjoining room. The first 25 minutes was pure bliss soaking in a tub of hot water infused with essential oils and purifying shungite crystals. Then, my Digital Wellness massage: focusing on head, eyes, shoulders, hands and feet — the areas we feel the most stress in our busy days. I have never experienced such utter relaxation in my life. After 90 minutes, I absolutely felt at ease. I will definitely be going back soon.

Cameron: I love yoga, so I was really happy to hear that the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta had yoga classes. We were beyond pumped to take a yoga class there during our staycation. There’s nothing like starting your day off right with yoga and clearing your mind, body, and soul. I find yoga to be very relaxing yet challenging at the same time. The class at the Mandarin was hands down one of the best classes I’ve ever taken. The class took place in the beautiful garden in which I loved hearing the sounds of nature and city sounds as we held our poses. I’m used to being in a hot yoga class in a studio filled with 20-50 people so being outside was something I loved. There were only 8 of us for the class which was really nice. Our instructor Adrienne broke down some of the more advanced poses for some of the beginners in our class, but also came around to help each of us, which is something you don’t really get when you’re in a large yoga class.

Service:

Stacy: Never have I experienced such a warm and welcoming staff. Our itinerary was well communicated throughout the hotel, and we had no trouble finding our way around with the abundant help of the attendants and managers.

Cameron: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They made sure that we knew where to go for our yoga class and spa treatments. You could really tell that they wanted every guest to have a truly memorable experience during their stay at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta.

Recommendation:

Stacy: Yoga in the gardens, a serene spa experience, a quiet and cozy bedroom, and a beautiful late morning brunch– I cannot recommend a more perfect place to leave your cares at the door and fall into the arms of the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta. I can’t wait to come back here with my boyfriend!

Cameron: I will never forget our staycation at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel to do it justice. Our experience was one in a lifetime thanks to all of the staff who truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable from a relaxing yoga class in the garden, to a delicious Chinese brunch, to even fabulous accommodations– I was simply blown away.
