Over the weekend, I attended Create + Cultivate in Atlanta, GA. It was so inspiring and empowering being in a room filled with hundreds of women who are movers, shakers, influencers, small business owners, and representatives from PR agencies. I learned so much not only from the panelists and my mentors (shoutout to Jeni Bauer of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and Rachel Martino), but from all the other women attendees who were there. Some of my biggest take aways from the conference were:

“Practice like you’re in second, and live like you’re in first.” – Panelist from ‘Beauty = Big Business’

“Failure is the first attempt at learning.”- Sarah Michelle Gellar, Foodstirs

“Be yourself and don’t mimic anyone else cause you’ll only be them by 40%.” – Nicole Richie, House of Harlow 1960

“Instead of being fearless, we should be courageous.” –Gigi Gorgeous

After talking to so many women this weekend, I feel so inspired to to go out and do what I love–blog about fashion and travel. I can’t wait to attend the next Create + Cultivate in the next city wherever that may be, and I hope to see you there.

Supporting other women is also important for progress to be made in all aspects of business and life. With that being said, myself and all of the other SH4L girls were excited to receive an email the other day about collaborating with ShopStyle X CFDA “Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.” Breast Cancer is an important cause to us because it effects and impacts each one of us either directly or indirectly.  Growing up, my high school boyfriend’s mom had cancer. It was hard on us all seeing such an amazing woman, suffer from this disease. I remember praying and feeling so happy the day my high school boyfriend told me that she was cancer free and that she beat this terrible disease. However, I wish that all women were able to beat this disease, which is why Srathardforlife will be donating 10% of our earnings up to $300 to help find a cure and to help raise awareness about Breast Cancer this week from October 17th-23rd.

This promotion is conducted in partnership with POPSUGAR Inc. (ShopStyle) and CFDA Foundation in support of the CFDA Foundation’s Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative. POPSUGAR Inc. will be separately making a $5,000 donation and will additionally match all participating ShopStyle Collective bloggers donations $1 for $1, in excess of $5,000, up to a maximum of $5,000, for a total POPSUGAR Inc. maximum donation of $10,000.
