Wedding Season in the Big Easy

Wedding Season in the Big Easy

Location: New Orleans, LA20 Jun

I recently returned from a fabulous weekend trip to New Orleans. Although I was in town for a wedding, that didn’t stop me from exploring the city in all it’s boozy, jazz music-filled glory.

We stayed at the Le Meridien while we were in NOLA.

Bourbon Street

Outfit Details: Michael Kors rain jacket // Burberry scarf // black floppy hat

The rain didn’t hinder our fun one bit! Luckily my Michael Kors rain jacket and floppy hat kept me dry as I hopped from bar to bar. I decided to forego the typically touristy Bourbon Street and opted for an afternoon on Frenchman Street instead. There were tons of great bars featuring live music all day long. The Spotted Cat was one of my favorite stops!

Saturday was the big wedding day! After the ceremony, we headed over to the gorgeous Elms Mansion on the historic Saint Charles Ave. The sky was perfectly blue and the sun shone bright on the brunch reception. Can I get an ‘Amen’ for shrimp and grits? My blue Lulu’s dress was just the right amount of dressy and casual for this wedding.

New Orleans City Guide

Outfit Details: palm leaf dress // denim vest // Converse shoes

After checking out of the Le Meridien hotel, I spent Sunday walking all over the city in my Forever 21 palm leaf dress. John and I took a quick pitstop at the Ace Hotel to check out their exclusive coffee shop– Stumptown. Best cold brew coffee. Ever.

**Note to self: stay at the Ace Hotel next time you’re in NOLA.

‘Till the next adventure!
